Babajide Sanwoolu, the Executive Governor of Lagos State, is gearing up to host a gathering of policymakers, leaders in the technology and creative ecosystems, startups, venture capital firms, and talents in the tech and creative fields. This marks the fifth edition of the Art of Technology – AOT Lagos, aimed at formulating policies that will propel the advancement of a more intelligent Lagos.
The governor is set to welcome a diverse audience of over ten thousand participants, both local and international, who have enrolled for the two-day conference. The event will showcase 20 exhibitors, 4 masterclasses, 4 keynote speeches, 1 pitch event, 2 breakout sessions, and 20 featured awards.
Tubosun Alake, the Commissioner for Innovation, Science, and Technology in Lagos State, is the convener of this tech conference. Notable keynote speakers scheduled for the event include Kunle Afolayan, an actor, filmmaker, and creative entrepreneur; Juliet Ehimuah, Founder of Beyond Limits; Cobhams Asuquo, a music producer and musician; and Oluwatobiloba Moody, the Director of the World Intellectual Property Organization.
Discussions during the conference will focus on driving technological and innovative outcomes, contributing to policy development, and fostering the growth of a more intelligent and efficient Lagos. The deliberations will address challenges in the creative sector, spanning film, music, fashion, design, and advertising. Additionally, the event will explore current opportunities arising from the integration of technology while contemplating the future trajectory of the sector.
Quoting Godwin Emefiele, the CBN Governor in 2021, “Nigeria’s creative sector holds tremendous potential to unlock the country’s economy and increase employment opportunities for young people, with the sector valued at over $4.5 billion.”

This annual tech conference is curated by the Eko Innovation Centre and supported by the Lagos State Government, the economic hub of Nigeria. AOT 5.0 aims not only to be a conference but also a catalyst for change, shaping the future landscape of the creative economy and digital transformation in Lagos.
