The Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) has finalized arrangements for the upcoming 2023 Lagos Advertising and Ideas Festival (LAIF), scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at The Hall, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The 18th edition of the 2023 LAIF Awards is anticipated to draw notable personalities, including industry leaders, top executives, and key figures from the advertising sector.
Mr. Jay Chukwuemeka, Chairman of the LAIF Management Board, highlighted the significance of this year’s awards in celebrating outstanding creative achievements over the past twelve months and fostering inclusion, as evidenced by the substantial volume of entries received.
Chukwuemeka underscored the symbolic nature of this year’s award celebration, aligning with the golden jubilee celebration of AAAN as an organization.
Themed ‘A New LAIF,’ the 2023 LAIF Awards will feature six major categories and introduce new categories. A total of over 550 entries were submitted by 19 creative agencies registered under AAAN from various locations in Nigeria.
Chukwuemeka emphasized that the awards offer participants the chance to recognize exceptional works from Nigerian advertising agencies, fostering appreciation for the creativity demonstrated by these practitioners.
An important aspect of the season was the Young LAIFERs, where practitioners under 30 competed for a coveted award. The LAIF AND DIRECT Conference, themed ‘Understanding the African Consumer,’ featured two panel sessions and a keynote speech. The award ceremony will also honor two advertising icons, Dr. Lekan Fadalapo, Director General of Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), and Mrs. Nkoli Ogbolu, as LAIF Hall of Fame personalities.
Since its inception in 2005, the LAIF Awards has played a crucial role in promoting healthy competition in the marketing communication landscape, elevating creativity and professionalism. Winning entries have earned accolades both on the continental and global stages.
