Ayoba, one of Africa’s leading communication platforms, is proud to announce its strategic partnership with Adanian Labs.
The collaboration between the companies aims to introduce an SME Accelerator program in Nigeria, dedicated to empowering and expediting the growth of small businesses. This endeavor is particularly timely, as Nigerian SMEs play a crucial role in driving economic growth and job creation within the country.
The SME Accelerator program seeks to address the main obstacles faced by small businesses, such as limited access to capital, technology infrastructure, market entry, and mentorship. Its objective is to foster innovation, enhance competitiveness, stimulate growth, and create sustainable employment opportunities. By combining Ayoba’s comprehensive all-in-one app, which includes messaging services, hyperlocal content, gaming, music, and e-commerce, with Adanian Labs’ expertise in technology solutions and ecosystem development, the ayoba-Adanian Labs partnership will provide Nigerian SMEs with essential resources. These resources include digitalization, mentorship, network access, technological support, and collaboration with partners for funding, enabling them to overcome barriers and achieve sustainable growth. Through tailored mentorship, funding opportunities, and technological resources, the accelerator aims to equip Nigerian SMEs with the necessary tools to thrive in the digital era. The program will officially launch on Monday, July 10th, with a two-week application period. The top 20 businesses will be announced, and applications will be accepted through the Adanian Labs website.
Recent statistics indicate that small and medium enterprises account for over 90% of businesses in Africa, contributing approximately 50% of employment and 33% of the continent’s GDP. In Nigeria alone, SMEs represent around 96% of businesses, employing millions of people and serving as sources of innovation and economic progress. Shiela Yabo, ayoba’s Head of Ecosystem Development, emphasized the significant potential impact of empowering Nigerian SMEs. Strengthening this sector can lead to accelerated economic growth, increased job opportunities, and enhanced global competitiveness for the country. Moreover, supporting small businesses fosters entrepreneurship, drives innovation, and contributes to wealth creation, ultimately improving Nigeria’s overall socio-economic landscape.
“We are enthusiastic about partnering with Adanian Labs to launch the SME Accelerator, a crucial initiative that will empower Nigerian small businesses,” added Yabo. “Through this collaboration, we aim to unlock the potential of Nigerian SMEs, driving economic prosperity and creating opportunities for sustainable development.”
Killian Mayua, Country Manager for Adanian Labs Nigeria, expressed excitement about collaborating with Ayoba to launch the SME Accelerator program, which holds great promise for Nigerian small businesses. Adanian Labs firmly believes that Africa will achieve its full potential once its SME sector undergoes transformation. The company has dedicated its efforts to building solutions that power and digitize SMEs. The joint efforts of Ayoba and Adanian Labs will support SME growth, enhance economic resilience, and contribute to the overall development of this vital sector. The partnership and the launch of the SME Accelerator signify a significant milestone in fostering innovation, driving entrepreneurship, and promoting economic empowerment, positioning Nigeria as a hub for SME growth and development.
