Dangote Cement Refutes Claims of Running a Sales Promotion

Dangote Cement Plc’s management has refuted claims circulating on various online platforms that they have initiated a sales promotion and adjusted their prices. In response to this misleading information, Anthony Chiejina, the Chief Branding and Communications Officer of the Dangote Group, labeled the reports as deceptive, malicious, and untrue.

He went on to mention that the management has officially alerted law enforcement agencies to track down and expose those responsible for spreading this deceitful information. He also encouraged Dangote Cement’s customers and other stakeholders to continue supporting the high-quality cement brand and to remain vigilant against scammers attempting to defraud them of their funds.

In contrast, BUA Cement Plc, a strong contender in the cement market, announced a reduction in the price of its cement product to N3,500 per bag, effective from Monday, October 2, 2023. This decision was made to align with their commitment to stimulate growth in the building materials and infrastructure sectors. The announcement regarding the price reduction was conveyed through a statement posted on their X (formerly Twitter) page.

It’s worth noting that this development follows the company’s chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu, who, after meeting with President Bola Tinubu, pledged to review the pricing of their product.
