Microsoft Plans to Bring OpenAI’s Sam Altman on Board, CEO Announces

On Monday, Satya Nadella, the Chief Executive Officer of Microsoft, announced the recruitment of Sam Altman and several members of his team from OpenAI, following the recent dismissal of the venture’s ChatGPT co-founder.

Altman, who gained prominence with the introduction of the artificial intelligence chatbot last year, shared on X (formerly Twitter), “The mission continues.”

Nadella stated on X that Altman will be tasked with leading a new advanced AI research team at Microsoft, joining forces with OpenAI co-founder Greg Brockman and their associates.

In a related development, Altman was removed from OpenAI’s board on Friday, leading to additional notable exits from the company. There are also reports of significant investor pressure to reinstate Altman.
