Nestlé introduces Nido Milk & Soya to its brand lineup in Nigeria

Nestlé has introduced the NIDO Milk & Soya Instant Powder Mix to the Nigerian market, enhancing its brand offerings.

This new product combines the benefits of milk and soya, fortified with iron, providing consumers with an economical, delectable, and nutritious creamy milk and plant-based addition for beverages and cereals.

For more than 62 years, Nestlé has been an integral part of the daily nutrition of numerous households in Nigeria, leveraging its research and development capabilities to unlock the potential of food in improving the well-being of individuals and families.

Ifeanyi Orabuche, the Category & Marketing Manager, Dairy, stated, “NIDO Milk & Soya represents our inaugural affordable fortified dairy and plant blend in the Nigerian market. This distinctive blend of filled milk and soya serves as a source of iron and contains other vital nutrients such as protein, calcium, vitamin C, and dietary fiber, which supports digestion. NIDO Milk & Soya joins our fortified product range to help address the prevalent issue of micronutrient deficiency, particularly iron deficiency, in the country.”

According to research published in the Journal of Public Health in Africa, the prevalence of anemia among school-age children in Nigeria is 71%, while among women, it is 47.3%.

NIDO Milk & Soya Instant Powder Mix was developed by local experts at Nestlé’s R&D Center in Abidjan and is manufactured locally in Nigeria, using 100% locally sourced soybeans. It showcases Nestlé’s commitment to product innovation and renovation, meeting the increasing demand for cost-effective nutritional options that also generate societal value.

“At Nestlé, our actions are guided by our purpose of harnessing the power of food to improve the quality of life for everyone, both today and in the future. With this new product, we aim to ensure a consistent income source to enhance the livelihoods of local farmers who supply the soybeans used in the production of NIDO Milk & Soya,” stated Victoria Uwadoka, the Corporate Communications, Public Affairs, and Sustainability lead at Nestlé Nigeria.

“This launch reflects Nestlé Nigeria’s ongoing dedication to providing affordable, wholesome, and nutritious choices for consumers nationwide, while also delivering long-term benefits that are beneficial for individuals, families, communities, and the environment,” she concluded.
