Nigerian Breweries’ New Sales Director to Resume May 1

According to the company’s announcement, Mr. Ayodele Lawal has been appointed the new Sales Director at Nigerian Breweries (NB).

After being appointed, he will direct the company’s sales strategy and execution in Nigeria starting on May 1.

Mr. Uche Unigwe, who is departing from the company after reaching the obligatory retirement age, is replaced by Lawal.

Lawal brings with him more than 30 years of brewing and sales experience. In both the business and its parent firm, Heineken, he has held a number of key sales positions.

He began working for the business in 1991 as a brewer before switching to sales as a field sales manager and working his way up to become the regional business manager for the Central, West, Lagos, and Port Harcourt regions.

Before becoming the Sales Director for Haiti in 2018, he was seconded to Heineken Vietnam in 2017 and later that year was appointed National Sales Manager Brana (Heineken OpCo in Haiti).

In 2021, he went back to Nigeria to assume the position of Zonal Business Manager, North, and afterward Zonal Business Manager, West.

The Managing Director of Nigerian Breweries Plc, Mr. Hans Essaadi congratulated Mr. Lawal on his new appointment, saying: “We are thrilled to have Ayodele take on the role of Sales Director.

He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the position, having held senior roles in Sales both at Nigerian Breweries and Heineken. His leadership and business acumen will undoubtedly drive further growth and innovation for our company.”
