Sahara Group’s Jaw-Dropping Move: Donating Cutting-Edge Medical Equipments to UBTH

The Sahara Group, through its subsidiary, Sahara Group Foundation, has reiterated its commitment to enhancing healthcare services by contributing cutting-edge medical equipment to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital in Edo State. The company officially disclosed this in a statement.

This donation fulfills Sahara Group’s promise to provide medical equipment, facilitated by Sahara Group Foundation, to bolster response capabilities at the ThisDay Dome Covid-19 Isolation and Treatment Centre in FCT-Abuja. The 360-bed facility served as a benchmark for other isolation centers nationwide.

In its statement, the Sahara Group Foundation outlined a strategic initiative to distribute the medical equipment to healthcare institutions across the country, aiming to augment healthcare accessibility and introduce state-of-the-art equipment in tertiary health institutions. The University of Benin Teaching Hospital was chosen as one of the beneficiaries of this initiative in collaboration with Asharami Energy.

The donated equipment includes a dialysis machine, automatic dialysis chair, suction units, monitors, oxygen tanks, medical beds, manual ICU medical beds, and drip stands, among other essential items. The formal handover ceremony took place at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital on Monday, November 6, 2023.
