Organizers Splash $50,000usd Seed Capital on Top 5 Finalists at Markhack 2.0

 Aremu emerges as the winner of MarkHack 2.0. after three months of innovative pitch sessions, workshops, masterclasses and mentorship sessions aimed at helping participants develop skills and provide them with the resources needed to transform their ideas into market-ready products.

Aremu, a robo-marketing tool designed to enhance product metrics and conversion rates, emerged as the winner at the grand finale of an event in Lagos, Nigeria, surpassing nine other startups. They were awarded the grand prize of $5,000. Ozi, a web application that streamlines customer acquisition, engagement, and management, secured the first runner-up position and received $3,000, while Zander, an AI tool for automating social media marketing and brand campaign processes, claimed the second runner-up position, earning a prize of $2,000. The top 5 finalists will participate in a 3-month incubation program at the Eko Innovation Center and receive a seed capital of $50,000 USD. Other finalists will also receive mentorship, free working space at the Eko Innovation Center, and consolation prizes.

MarkHack 2.0, Nigeria’s largest marketing and media hackathon, was themed “Unlocking the Power of the Creative Economy” and focused on Immersive Experience (XR), Content Creation, and Robo Marketing. The event was curated by GDM Group and Eko Innovation Center and concluded with a disruptive pitch contest where 10 startups presented their ideas to industry experts. The organizer of MarkHack, Victor Afolabi, expressed gratitude for providing a platform that fosters creativity in the industry.

Victor Afolabi, the curator of MarkHack and Founder of Eko Innovation Center and Art of Technology Lagos, reiterated his vision of disrupting Nigeria’s creative industry through MarkHack 2.0. The event aims to leverage the economic potential in the sector by bringing together marketing and media professionals, tech enthusiasts, creators, innovators, and industry leaders to collaborate and explore new ways to shape a prosperous creative economy.

The creative industries have become increasingly dynamic with the rise of digital media, social platforms, and technology. This presents developing countries like Nigeria with opportunities to enter emerging high-growth areas of the world economy.

MarkHack gathered innovators, tech experts, entrepreneurs, policymakers, media professionals, marketing experts, and corporate leaders who joined forces to create innovative solutions for real-time marketing and media challenges. The event sparked imagination, showcased the potential of technology, unveiled creative marvels, illuminated the media landscape, and revolutionized innovation. It was an unforgettable evening of discovery, collaboration, and boundless excitement. The second edition of the event received over 1,365 applications from 92 locations across Europe, Asia, and Africa, all evaluated by 22 industry experts.
