Dataleum Emerges “Winner” for Ed-Tech Startup of West Africa 2023 by Global Startup Awards.

Dataleum, a leading Technology training and firm, has achieved significant recognition as a regional winner at this year’s Global Startup Awards (GSA) Africa, the largest and most independent startup ecosystem competition on the continent. These winners were selected from competitions held in Northern, Southern, Eastern, Western, and Central Africa.

The Global Startup Awards Africa serves as a global platform to showcase and support the most promising startups in Africa. The latest edition of the competition focused on solutions in agriculture, climate change, business, healthcare, education, and mobility & logistics, with a special emphasis on startups that promote Web 3.0 technologies, sustainable business models, green innovation, and workplace diversity.

In the 2022-2023 season, an astounding number of 8,272 submissions were received from all 54 African nations. Among these submissions, Dataleum emerged as the regional winner of the Ed-Tech Award in West Africa. The West African Ed-Tech Awards is a regional competition held within the framework of the Global Startup Awards (GSA) Africa.

Dataleum initially competed at the national level and then progressed to become a regional finalist. A panel of impartial judges carefully evaluated the submissions, ensuring a comprehensive assessment of the African tech sector. As a result of this remarkable achievement, Dataleum will advance to the continental finals of the GSA Africa competition, where they will vie for the title of African champion. At the GSA Grand Finale, these selected startups will have the opportunity to showcase their innovative ideas alongside renowned business leaders and ecosystem facilitators from around the world.

The announcement of the winners took place during the inaugural edition of GITEX Africa 2023 in Marrakech, Morocco. GITEX Africa 2023 serves as a platform to bring together global leaders and promote the adoption of next-generation technology in Africa.

Jo Griffiths, co-founder of GSA Africa, expressed excitement about this year’s competition, highlighting the exceptional quality and diverse range of solutions originating from all corners of the continent, addressing pressing challenges.

The founders of Dataleum expressed their delight and optimism for the future upon receiving the prestigious Ed-Tech Award. They viewed this recognition as validation of their unwavering commitment to revolutionize the technology sector.

“Six months ago, we won the Startup of the Year Award by AOT Lagos and the Lagos State Government, and now we have expanded our impact by representing the entire West Africa region. This award acknowledges our determination, dedication, passion, and technical expertise, which have significantly contributed to the growth of the African Tech Ecosystem,” said Bode Roberts, the CEO of Dataleum.
