Fidelity Bank Wins Award For Export Finance Bank Of The Year

Fidelity Bank Plc Secures Export Finance Bank of the Year Award at the BusinessDay and Other Financial Institutions’ (BAFI) Awards 2023.

The ceremony, which took place on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at the Lagos Continental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, saw Fidelity Bank Plc receiving the prestigious Export Finance Bank of the Year award.

According to BusinessDay Media Limited, the organizers of the BAFI Awards, this event serves as a significant benchmark of excellence for institutions within the Nigerian financial services sector. Having completed a decade, the awards aim to acknowledge and honor organizations that excel in providing financial services in Nigeria.

Expressing her gratitude for the recognition, Mrs. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, MD/CEO of Fidelity Bank Plc, dedicated the award to their customers, emphasizing their reliance on the bank for effective support in the global non-oil exports market. She further reiterated the bank’s commitment to its mission of facilitating individual growth, business prosperity, and economic empowerment.

Notably, the bank recently hosted the second edition of the Fidelity International Trade and Creative Connect (FITCC) in Houston, Texas, where it sealed a significant cocoa pre-export deal with AFREXIM Bank and JohnVents Industries worth $40 million. This deal has garnered acclaim from industry analysts as a significant milestone in the exports sector.

The FITCC Houston event featured exhibitions from over 160 Nigerian and US-based businesses, alongside engaging panel sessions focusing on strategies to enhance the presence of Nigerian businesses in the US market. In recognition of Fidelity Bank’s efforts in promoting bilateral trade and economic development between Nigeria and the USA through the FITCC initiative, the Mayor of the City of Houston, Sylvester Turner, declared October 25, 2023, as FITCC Day in Houston, Texas.
