First batch of 270 Sudan returnees arrives in Abuja

270 Nigerians who were trapped in Sudan have arrived in Sudan in their first group.

The majority of the returning citizens are students, and they flew on an Air Peace aircraft to Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport in Abuja at around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The anticipated arrival of Nigerian nationals from Egypt had previously been notified by the Nigerian Air Force.

The NAF spokesman, Air Commodore Ayodele Famuyiwa, stated in a succinct WhatsApp message that the C-130H NAF aircraft transporting the Nigerians out of Egypt had left the Aswan Airport in the North African nation and would be at the Abuja airport by 11:23 p.m.
