Simisola Hughes-Obisesan, a specialist in advertising, has been promoted to the role of Executive Creative Director at Insight Redefini, a Publicis Groupe affiliate organization for integrated marketing communications.
In her new role, Sinmisola, an internationally acclaimed creative powerhouse, will take charge of overseeing all local and global brands within the group’s portfolio.
As the recently appointed Executive Creative Director, Sinmisola has also been elected as a member of the 2023 Pitcher Festival Heritage Jury. This prestigious festival, known as the pan-African benchmark for creative excellence, brings together global experts from the creative industry to evaluate and shortlist exceptional creative work. The festival recognizes and honors outstanding advertising agencies, brands, and individuals for their campaigns and initiatives implemented in Africa.
Expressing her gratitude, Sinmisola stated, “I am honored to be appointed as a member of the 2023 Pitcher Festival Heritage Jury. Joining fellow creative professionals in setting the pan-African standard for creative excellence, I am excited to witness the diverse range of creative entries for 2023 and provide well-deserved recognition to Nigeria’s creative agencies.”
Under Sinmisola’s leadership, the team at Insight Publicis, where she serves as the Executive Creative Director, recently achieved multiple gold, silver, and bronze awards at the 2023 Publicis Africa Groupe Giraffe Awards. These accolades were earned for their exceptional work on the popular 2022 advertising campaign, ‘Japa to Prime,’ created for Amazon Prime Video, a leading global on-demand subscription video and streaming platform.

Sinmisola’s impressive body of work includes renowned campaigns such as the Pepsi ‘Long Throat’ campaign, ‘Japa to Prime’ campaign, Pepsi ‘No Shakin, Carry Go’ campaign, and others for leading brands like Star, Gulder, Gulder Max, Bank PHB, Peak Milk, Nestle, PZ, and most recently, the current Heineken campaign featuring Jidenna.
With over 13 years of advertising experience on various brands, Sinmisola is a globally recognized and award-winning creative director. She holds the distinction of being the first female and millennial creative director at Insight Publicis and is also the second female creative director in the history of advertising in Nigeria. Sinmisola obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Culture & Media from Coventry University in the United Kingdom.
