Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) Gears Up for 2023 AGM and Presidential Elections

As the 2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) draws closer, anticipation builds for the election of new executives to lead the council. The spotlight remains on the apex seat, the office of the President, as aspirants step forward with their manifestoes, and members carefully assess their candidates of choice to steer the council forward.

Meet the Aspirants:

Nkechi Ali-Balogun

Nkechi Ali-Balogun

Nkechi Ali-Balogun, a seasoned industry veteran, stands at the helm of affairs as the Principal Consultant/CEO. With over 25 years of experience in Public Relations and Training consultancy, she brings a wealth of expertise from both the client and services side. Nkechi’s diverse background includes notable positions, such as Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Lagos State Chapter, and a current member of the Governing Council.

Her ingenuity as a gifted strategist and creative problem-solver has made her an in-demand industry facilitator, motivational speaker, and mentor throughout her career. Nkechi’s academic credentials include a graduate degree from the University of Lagos, a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and an MBA in Management from the same university. She has further honed her skills through specialized Public Relations Management courses in Frank Jefkins School of Public Relations, London, and the prestigious Lagos Business School. Nkechi’s accomplishments have garnered her numerous awards, including being the first female to receive the Most Outstanding Public Relations Practitioner (Female) recognition from the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Lagos.

Dr. Ike Neliaku

Dr. Ike Neliaku

Dr. Ike Neliaku is a consummate Public Relations Practitioner, Development Administrator, Real Estate Developer, and Researcher. With a distinguished career in the federal public service spanning over 20 years, he has held key positions in various Federal Ministries and The Presidency.

Dr. Neliaku’s professional journey has taken him to more than 45 countries as part of various federal government delegations. He has participated in over 55 technical missions, contributing his expertise to sustainable development, information and communication management, negotiations, conciliation, diplomacy, cultural relations, public sector administration, infrastructure development, leadership and management development, gender equity and empowerment, youth development, among other areas. His service also extends to chairing, coordinating, and being a member of numerous specialized committees during his tenure with the Federal Government of Nigeria. Additionally, Dr. Neliaku has served as a Member of the Governing Board at Federal University Gusau, Zamfara State.

Beyond his public service, Dr. Neliaku is the founding CEO of Cymbals Ltd and the founding Vice Chairman/CEO of abc Shelters Ltd. He is also the Principal Partner at Rightangle PR, Executive Producer of Rightangle Productions, and the Convener of Issachar-200 Centre for Research and Development.

As the AGM approaches, the members of NIPR eagerly await the unfolding of the election process and the prospects that lie ahead under the leadership of the elected President.
