Polaris Bank Supports Educational Initiatives For Young Girls In Abuja, Kano, And Kogi

Continuing its mission to empower young girls in selected public secondary schools, Polaris Bank, renowned as Nigeria’s Best Digital Bank, recently conducted charitable activities in Kano, Abuja, and Kogi. The bank’s representatives visited various schools, including the Government Girls Secondary School, Kundila, Kano; the Junior Secondary School, Maitama, and the Government Secondary School, Garki, both in Abuja; and the Fortune Schools International, Lokoja, Kogi State. The team donated a substantial number of school bags, uniforms, sandals, books, and other educational materials to underprivileged students.

During the events, Mr. Osazuwa Igbinoba, the Group Head of Polaris Bank’s North 1 & Abuja division, emphasized the bank’s corporate social responsibility initiatives and collaborations with various NGOs, such as Evolve Charity. He highlighted the bank’s long-term commitment to empowering the girl child in Nigeria and its partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative in conjunction with UNESCO.

According to Mr. Igbinoba, the program has been operational for three years, reaching schools in Lagos, Kano, Abuja, and Kogi. Several school representatives expressed their gratitude for the donations, emphasizing the significant impact on the students’ educational experiences, especially for those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Students like Fatima Kabir, a JSS3 student at Government Secondary School, Garki, conveyed their appreciation, highlighting how the support would aid them in achieving their future aspirations.

The initiative received warm reception and commendation from school principals, including Mrs. Onuoha Goodluck from Government Secondary School, Garki; Aisha Shehu Yakasai from Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Kundila, Kano; and Mrs. Abu Omanyo Esther from Fortune Schools International, Lokoja. They praised Polaris Bank for its consistent efforts in supporting education and empowering underprivileged children.

Polaris Bank continues to demonstrate its dedication to a customer-focused future through innovative partnerships, aiming to reshape communities and contribute to the education sector. The bank’s impactful journey will soon extend to Rivers and Imo states, affirming its commitment to uplifting education across Nigeria.
