Ilebaye Odiniya Emerges as Big Brother Naija All-Stars Winner

After an exhilarating ten-week journey, Big Brother Naija All-Stars has drawn to a close, and 22-year-old Ilebaye Odiniya has claimed the coveted title of the ultimate BBNaija star. This remarkable victory on Sunday, October 1, 2023, solidifies her status as the reigning champion of the all-star edition, which featured some of Big Brother’s most iconic alumni.

Ilebaye, who remained a constant presence in news headlines and social media trends throughout the season, walked away with the grand prize of ₦120,000,000, a brand-new SUV, and other exciting rewards, thanks to the overwhelming support of viewers across Africa, who cast 30.08% of their votes in her favor.

Hailing from Kogi State, Ilebaye outshone 19 other talented housemates in a fiercely competitive 70-day battle, becoming the third female housemate in BBNaija history to claim the coveted title. This season also marked a historic moment with an all-female top 3.

Ilebaye’s journey began when she was the third housemate to be evicted during her initial stint in the Biggieverse. However, her resilience and charm won her the hearts of fans, known as “The Arisers,” who rallied behind her. She proved her mettle by excelling in various house tasks and, ultimately, emerged as the unexpected victor.

The finale saw six finalists vying for the All-Stars crown, with Mercy securing the first runner-up position, garnering 23.48% of the votes, and CeeC following closely in third place with 23.41%. Other top-six contenders included Adekunle (12.61%), Pere (5.82%), and Cross (4.6%).

Ilebaye now joins the prestigious list of BBNaija winners, which includes Phyna, Whitemoney, Laycon, Mercy, Miracle, Efe, and Katung. With her triumph in a season where established fan favorites competed, all eyes are on her as she explores the career opportunities that the BBNaija platform affords.

In her post-win remarks, Ilebaye expressed her gratitude to fans and MultiChoice, stating, “I am very grateful for this win. When I returned to Biggie’s house, I didn’t know what to expect, but I didn’t think this would happen. It’s the best surprise and gift. I’m very thankful to the fans who voted and made this happen and MultiChoice for the opportunity.”

Dr. Busola Tejumola, Executive Head of Content and West Africa Channels at MultiChoice, commented on the show’s success, saying, “Big Brother Naija All-Stars has been an interesting journey. We knew having the fan-favorite housemates return to the house would make for great content, but we got more than we bargained for in a good way. The housemates filled all 70 days of the show with what the kids will call premium drama, gbas-gbos, and all-around great content. We at MultiChoice are very proud of this moment, and we thank the fans, our dear customers, and all the sponsors for the successful season.”

The BBNaija All-Stars finale was a star-studded affair featuring performances by top African musicians Skales and Bnxn. The viewing party in Lagos welcomed appearances from past Big Brother Naija and Titans stars, and it was hosted by Toke Makinwa. Nigerian Idol stars Progress, Victory, and Precious Mac also made notable appearances.

The All-Stars edition of the BBNaija franchise has made history as the most successful yet, breaking records for social media engagement. The innovative changes and twists in the show kept viewers on the edge of their seats, anticipating Big Brother’s every move.

The ₦120 million cash prize for this season’s winner is the largest ever, accompanied by a brand-new Innoson IVM G5, a weekend getaway for two courtesy of TravelBeta, a brand-new Tecno Phantom V-Fold, and a bundle of electronics from Nexus. The winner will also enjoy a year’s supply of Pepsi, Arla dairy products, MunchIt snacks, Oriflame products, Titus sardines, Hawaii soap, WAW detergent, and Lush Hair.
